Christian Music - How the New Age of Music Has Brought About Growth

Ask any music enthusiast and they know who Lifehouse and Switchfoot are. The modern age has brought about a new genre of Christian rock that is appealing to the masses. Christian music has become more than just music for people of faith. It has become a phenomenon that grows every year - Growing in the different types of genres for everybody's tastes.
Throughout the last 10 years there has even been some major changes in what a person categorizes as "Christian music." Christian music has been infused into almost every music genre. Some of the most popular bands in America are in fact Christian bands, with many of their listeners not even knowing! The Almost, Underoath, and Flyleaf are just examples of bands who have made names for themselves in the secular and Christian music worlds.
From being a part of this generation I have seen the transformation of Christian music from traditional to upbeat and lively. Christian music has been changed into something that is accepted by many people even with it having the genre title of "Religious." Also from being raised in this generation I've seen how the people's opinions have changed toward music, and how almost no one anymore will look down on a band because they're labeled Christian.
This generation's music lovers are open to new and different sounds - They aren't afraid to try something new or listen to something that might be different. People tend to not care what a band is labeled as, as much as what it sounds like. Most people value a band's musical talent rather than what the band is trying to convey through their music. There are many bands out there that are sending messages through their music that to a single person won't necessarily line up with their views, but that person will push aside personal opinions just because they like the way the band sounds.
